Wunan’s strategy for change in the East Kimberley is linked intrinsically to 6 key focus areas which include; Financial independence, Manage growth, Relationships, Provide incentives, Increase the ladder of opportunity, and Change attitudes and values. Wunan believes these agenda’s will create a robust organisation with real capacity to be innovative, pragmatic and allow it to develop strategies that provide an environment that supports success for Aboriginal people as they climb the ladder of opportunity from dependence to independence.
Our guiding philosophy that Aboriginal success grows from investing in people’s ability, real opportunity, and reward for effort will help us shift the balance of dependence from 80% to 20% over 20 years.
