'Wareg' is the Aboriginal Kriol word for ‘work’. It is also the name of this online transition to employment program, which provides a step-by-step guide in preparing participants for employment.
The Wareg step-by-step program is based on best practice and has been modelled on a real life pilot program experience. It provides relevant information and material for each stage in a transition to employment program, from opportunities in the Community to work placement, training and preparations for employment. Cultural sensitivities have also been considered.
This web based program has been specifically designed to help facilitators to prepare potential Indigenous participants for work readiness and eventual employment. The Wareg program is delivered through a series of steps, which contain important and relevant information that can be downloaded or referenced in order to provide facilitators with the best tools possible when engaging with participants. You can view an introductory animation HERE.
Participants themselves will not need to use the Wareg website and no personal or private information can be stored on this website. Relevant private or personal information, specific to participants, needs to be stored on the facilitators personal computer.
Important note: Wareg is intended as a guide. Facilitators should reference Wareg while planning and preparing their tailored work readiness programs, specific to individuals and in the context of the Comminity in question.
