Wunan Foundation is inviting Expressions of Interest from committed individuals to join our Board of Directors.

As a leading Aboriginal organisation in the East Kimberley, Wunan is dedicated to ensuring Aboriginal people enjoy the capabilities and opportunities to make positive choices that lead to independent and fulfilling lives. Since 1997, Wunan has been driving initiatives in education, health, leadership, housing, employment and enterprise to create long-term social and economic change.

Role of the Board

Our Directors provide governance and oversight across Wunan’s operations, investments and strategy. This includes:

  • Actively participating in 4–5 meetings per year (in-person or online)

  • Reviewing reports on programs, investments and finances

  • Advocating for the interests of Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley

  • Ensuring accountability, good governance and compliance

Eligibility & Skills

We are seeking an Aboriginal person from the East Kimberley with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Commerce and investment

  • Finance, risk, compliance and governance

  • Marketing and communications

  • Community development and leadership

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to Wunan’s mission and values and meet governance requirements under WA and ACNC legislation.

Term & Remuneration

  • 3-year appointment (with eligibility for re-election)

  • Sitting fees payable

  • Travel, accommodation and meals covered
