Wunan Foundation and Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), strengthening efforts to improve wellbeing and social outcomes for Aboriginal people across the East Kimberley.
The agreement aligns both organisations across key areas including health, housing, employment, education and social programs, under a shared commitment to Aboriginal‑led, community‑driven approaches.
Wunan Foundation Chief Executive Officer Prue Jenkins said the partnership reflects a practical, outcomes‑focused approach to collaboration.
“This MOU represents a genuine commitment to working together in ways that are respectful, coordinated and grounded in community need,” she said.
“By aligning our efforts, we can better support Aboriginal people to access opportunities that improve stability and long‑term outcomes.”
Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation Chief Executive Officer Elaine McLean said the agreement strengthens an established relationship and reinforces a shared direction.
“This partnership builds on the work already underway and strengthens our focus on what matters most for our community,” she said.
“It will improve coordination across services and ensure people feel supported and understood across both Wyndham and Kununurra.”
A joint Working Group, comprising board members and senior leaders from both organisations, will guide implementation, support shared planning and oversee the development of joint initiatives.
Both organisations said the partnership is grounded in shared values and a commitment to delivering meaningful, long‑term outcomes for their communities.
