The Halls Creek Education Initiative supports Aboriginal children and young people to engage in education, improve school attendance, and build stronger pathways to future opportunities.
Delivered by the Wunan Foundation, the initiative works alongside families, schools and community partners to identify and address the barriers that can make regular school attendance challenging. By providing practical, tailored support, the initiative helps more children attend school, stay engaged in learning, and develop positive connections with education.
Helping Remove Barriers to Attendance
Every family's situation is different. That's why the initiative focuses on understanding the challenges affecting school attendance and working with families to find solutions that meet their needs. Evidence suggests that supporting families to overcome these barriers can be more effective than focusing on attendance alone.
